Before launching her own business, Dee Dee De Bartlo was a Senior Director of Publicity at William Morrow/HarperCollins, where she worked for twelve years. She created and directed the publicity campaigns for bestsellers including Freakonomics, Mavericks at Work, The Lean, Founding Mothers, Three Seconds, and many others.  She has worked with notable authors and personalities including economist Steve Levitt, political analyst Cokie Roberts, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, lifestyle expert Kathy Freston, and celebrated crime writer Elmore Leonard.

Miral Sattar is the CEO of LearnSelfPublishingFast and Bibliocrunch, an award-winning marketplace that connects authors with vetted book publishing professionals such as editors, designers, and marketers. She has worked in the media industry for eleven years, most recently at TIME where she launched several digital initiatives, including an iPad and mobile site, mobile apps, a video and podcast channel, blogs, and SEO. Miral and her writing have been featured in Time, Forbes, Consumer Reports, CNN, and New York Daily News, among other media publications. Stacy is an attorney with more than twenty years of experience representing individuals and businesses in connection with intellectual property and publishing matters. Prior to founding her own firm in 2014, Stacy was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at News Corporation, where she advised numerous publishing businesses including HarperCollins and the New York Post. She attended Brown University and Boston University School of Law. In addition to serving on the Board of Women's Media Group, Stacy is a member of the Copyright Society and the International Trademark Association, and serves on a panel of attorneys that provides advice to members of The Authors Guild.

Libby McGuire worked at Penguin Random House for the last fifteen years, spending the past ten as publisher of Ballantine. Prior to that, Libby worked in various sales and marketing positions at Random House, Simon and Schuster, and HarperCollins. Libby has a B.A. from Lycoming College and lives in New York City with her husband Tim Duggan and two children.

Tessa Shanks has been the business manager of W.W. Norton’s College Department since 2016. There she oversees forecasting, financial and sales analysis, and inventory management for the group. Previously she worked in the corporate finance department of Perseus Books, where she focused on budgeting and analysis for the Running Press, PublicAffairs, and Avalon imprints.

Prior to her career in corporate finance, Tessa spent nine years working in publicity at Knopf and PublicAffairs, where she rose to the rank of Assistant Director of Publicity, working with authors such as former Governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm, and journalists Gay Talese and Joan Didion.

A graduate of Oberlin College, Tessa lives in Brooklyn, three blocks away from her favorite bookstore.

Lisa Faith Phillips, an award-winning digital and business-development strategist, is excited to be the current President of WMG and working at the Council on Foreign Relations. While Director of Digital Strategy and Development at Hachette Book Group, Lisa launched a wide range of digital sales channels, from public and school library to e-giftcards. Under her leadership as VP of Products and Services at NOLOH, an agile development platform, Lisa’s team won Web Marketing Association’s Awards for Standard of Excellence and Marketing. Running Random House’s direct-to-consumer businesses as VP and GM, Lisa oversaw business, product development, and marketing for iconic brands from Bon Appétit to Star Wars. A frequent speaker on digital innovation, as a consultant, she advises companies on digital investments, strategy, and marketing. Lisa is also a comedian, singer, and playwright, and has been a participating artist at theaters in New York, London, Barcelona, and Findlay, Ohio. Her popular shows have been seen in New York, in Los Angeles, and at the Edinburgh and DC Capital Fringe Festivals. She holds a BA from Wellesley College, a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, and has studied music theory at Juilliard. She is working on her first novel. @lisafaith

For more than twenty-five years, Darcie Rowan has been helping authors and experts achieve their marketing and publicity goals. Darcie excels at “seeing the big picture,” while working one-on-one with her clients to identify promotional opportunities, create multidimensional media branding initiatives, and execute impactful campaigns. In addition, Darcie regularly coaches clients on how to successfully connect with and engage their customers though social media marketing. She is highly respected by the media as someone who knows what is newsworthy and whose word can be trusted. As a long-standing industry leader, she has garnered top national and strategic regional media bookings in a variety of genres, including lifestyle, consumer products, business, finance, pop culture, entertainment, and publishing. Ms. Rowan is a graduate of New York University. She resides in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and pug-son, Rodney.

Drawing upon learnings across a broad range of brand, content, retail and technology experience, Charlie & Co. creates actionable business, market and development strategies for content and technology companies.

Kathy Sandler is a leader in the field of publishing technology and innovation. She currently works in IT at Penguin Random House and helps to run a grass-roots innovation project. She worked on the launch of the Storia eReader at Scholastic and the launch of the digital editions of Fitness and Parents magazine to iPad at Meredith. She worked at Hearst Magazines in publishing technology and training for 20 years. Kathy was named one of Folio’s 40 Most Influential People in Publishing. She was President of Women In Production and founded Digital Asset Management Day at Seybold. She has an MBA from NYU and teaches in the Master's in Publishing program there.

General Board Member: Susannah Greenberg

For over 20 years, Susannah Greenberg Public Relations has represented publishers, authors and book industry organizations throughout North America. As President, Susannah Greenberg works with clients to secure media placements - features, interviews, reviews and mentions - in TV, Radio, Print and Internet. She researches media outlets, writes press releases and pitch letters, creates online press kits and works to optimize her clients' social media presence by advising them on platforms and content strategy.

Greenberg was the launch publicist for: National Poetry Month; the bestselling business book "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Dr. Spencer Johnson; and Albert Whitman Teen. Past clients included Bloomberg Press and Hazelden Publishing. Recent clients include hoopla, KidLitTV, Roxie Munro, Skyhorse Publishing, and What on Earth Books. She has organized and presented numerous panels for BookExpo including a May 31, 2018 panel on children's book publishing, a discussion with experts in the field from Chronicle Books, McNally Jackson Books, Bank Street College of Education, and award-winning author / illustrator Sean Qualls.

Recognized as an industry leader, Shanta has earned an exceptional reputation for her ability to design and create event decor for a wide range of clients including celebrity inspired events, corporate galas and private parties. As the CEO and Founder of Bunch of Balloons, Shanta is the creative force behind its success. Having spent over 10 years working in the digital media and online publishing space for The New York Times, TIME Magazine, and Bloomberg Media, Shanta blends her technical know-how and creative flare to create unique event experiences that amplify her client's presence and the atmosphere of their events. As a certified artist, her designs have been featured on TV and in print, and was most recently honored by Schneps Communications as a Rising Star under 40.

Shanta graduated from PACE University with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, holds PMP and CMS credentials, and has completed a number of programs from NYU in Marketing, Management, Hospitality, and Tourism.
